Most of us have followed the recently proposed tobacco legislation running through the Washington State Legislature. I have recently heard of another proposal that is being considered. In an effort to "save the planet", electric and hybrid cars are the rage. Well it seems that the tax revenue that is generated from the sale of gasoline is falling short of what is needed to maintain the roads etc. Well now they want to add an additional tax on the purchase of these "green vehicles" to make up for the shortfall in tax revenue because of the decreased consumption of gasoline. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I'd love it if this stupid state decided to tax the hell out of something I never bought.

Get after it boys!! Tax tampons and futons,....and those stupid little electric cars!!!
But alas,... :crying: ...they have my number and they tax the crap out of me!

Funny thing is a electric car has a bigger carbon footprint than a big ol SUV . All the states are in big trouble Entitlement programs . Whether you are rich, middle class or dirt poor and living in a cardboard box, it is a well-established fact that if people can survive without working, they won't work, even if that means taking the money of their hardworking countrymen. It is far easier to live on the paltry $300 dollars a month the government will pay an individual in food stamps than it is to get a job pumping gas or flipping burgers in a fast food restaurant. Ok Iam done .

I can easily see this turning into another political thread that has nothing to do with tobacco or tobacco legislation. So I am going to go ahead and close this thread.
