There are whitish specks here and there. Pretty minimal, actually, but they are there. I some similarly insignificant (but definitely there) whitish plume-like specks on some Squadron Leader, as mentioned above.

Nothing wrong with taking 3 puffs, setting the pipe down, taking a walk, drinking a glass of water and seeing how you feel.
