my friend has this same pipe, only i believe the material in the case is darker. he picked it up at a flea market for about $5,and he has i think 4 corn cob inserts for it and its manufacturing certificate. its also in great condition. i was just wondering if its worth anything i couldnt find it on ebay.

It could be, though I have not quite seen anything like it. Here is the link to the company listed on the box. They might be able to tell you when it was made, how many were made, can you still get it, etc. http://aristocob.com/ :puffpipe:

It's definitely worth something to somebody. I wouldn't put a price tag larger than $40 on it with the extra inserts but I'm not a professional. If profits are the goal one could probably get more than that by selling them separately. The inserts to the guy who already has one but no more inserts as I can imagine they are rather hard to find and the pipe set to the guy who has been looking for one to add to his collection.
I've never had one in my hand but they are definitely a novel concept! Haha but I'm perfectly comfortable having a cob in my jaw so I don't personally see the sense in the thing aside from a decoration.
As an aside that Aristocob link isn't leading to the company but a cob enthusiast who named his site/business for an out of production product. :D

There are folks who collect Aristocobs and I've seen a website devoted to them,if my memory ain't playing tricks on me. They ain't worth a lot of money but certainly much more than $5.00.
Edit--found this blog about Aristocob and MM cobs,Scroll down toward middle of page for a short history of the Aristocob.

Aristocobs havent been made in years. They typically sell on Ebay with the case and in good condition for $25-$30 with a couple of inserts. At one point in time, the inserts in an original box were considered really rare and some sold for lots of $$, but someone found a bunch of cases in a warehouse awhile back and the prices dropped quick. I'm thinking maybe $10 or so for a box of three, but I havent watched them in a long time.

In general, the price of just about all pipes seems to have dropped in the last couple years.

I have two Aristocobs, but have to admit I've never smoked either.
