That is for sure an early tin. Can't say exactly when. Need an even older timer than me.
Take two: A Tin purchase 2001 for Butera
So if the 8 corresponds to 2001 the 7 could very well be 2000.. ?
or is your tin from 1998?
When did Butera sell the line to Arango? ofafeather's tins say "made for Butera Pipe Company" and BROBS' say "made for Esoterica Tobacciana"
Not sure bc I purchased it in ‘01 but don’t know how old it was when purchased.
I’m gonna say it’s 2007. I’m only saying that based off what I’ve seen in the past. Could I be wrong…sure quite frequently. And, that ? should taste quite wonderful whether it’s 15 yrs or 25 yrs. For me, VaPer/Virginia blend tend to mute itself out past a certain point. ?

Ahh, so the change in the labeling from "made for Butera Pipe Company" to "made for Esoterica Tobacciana" happened well before Butera sold the rights to Arango in 2009. So much for that theory.

What year did Butera take over from the original importer? It seems like the labels possibly go “Esoterica Tobacciana” to “Butera” to “Arango”. There’s a few tins on Pipestud right now as early as 2001 with the Butera label and 2017 with the Arango.
