If the ad said something about a happy ending, that’s when you should be leery. Otherwise, as with any other purchase you make anywhere, it’s buyer beware. Also, I recommend you shop online more. It’s generally safe and there are more protections today than say 5-10 years ago. I like supporting B&M stores also, but you don’t take advantage of online pipe store (or other) retailers? If you aren’t taking advantage of online retailers - you’re getting scammed by B&M stores all the time. What’s the difference if this ad is a scam if that’s the case?

But, the fool has a point. Who cares if you’re on multiple forums? Won’t breech the subject matter of trying to confirm if an online ad from someone you’ve never met is a scam in an online forum from people you’ve likely never met. ?‍

Wasn’t the point @Chasing Embers. I think the point is no one cares, so why make it a point to tell people you’re (on other forums) like it matters?

Maybe just the way I read it… but, I think the sarcasm might have slipped through cyberspace like the rationale for the need to explain being on more than one forum. ?‍

Don’t see why this would be a scam, unless he just plans to murder you when you come to his house for a look. You can look at it before ya buy it… not really seeing the scam here. Just tell someone, anyone, where you are going! (been watching too much true crime - be safe)

Most likely, the more the better…whatever you have time for. I think the point was missed. The attempt failed. I only noticed because you mentioned it. how would I have known otherwise?

If I was going to be nasty, I would have asked if you’re either 12 or 70+. I have kids that age and parents that are older and I would expect the same behavior and questions from them.

It’s so silly online sometimes… humor is missed in the text because you lose any character attached to it and apply whatever you want and create your own narrative. Same with text messages and emails. What happens is it’s no longer the sender’s intent that matters as much as the receivers sensitive feelings. We’ve become too sensitive as a society. Don’t crack a joke - you might offend someone or hurt their feelings.

The point wasn’t to be nasty, but if you want to perceive it that way and couch it like that - we can certainly go that direction. Take your white flag back - I’m going to get my cannon. ? ?
