Is This a Real Peterson?

Need help identifying this pipe. I have not found this peterson 68 dublin before and the top of the bowl is rounded instead of flat/level. Please help!

I think the lack of the P on the stem is the first thing that caught my attention, plenty of Pete’s are a bit rounded. Lots of different colored bands on them but the ones I’ve seen have the P. But then i don’t know what I’m talking about, just want to be part of the gang!

Possibly a replacement stem but I couldn't imagine anyone counterfeiting a Peterson.

Rounded where? Doesn't look that much different from this.

Shame. The birdseye briar on it is quite nice. Did you ask the seller what special edition it was and when made ? You could email a photo to Peterson and ask customer service. They will let you know. It could have been a special addition of the Dublin Filter but the band seems too large ...
How much was it ? New or Pre-smoked ? My Aran 68 Irish Army has a rounded top.

Could've have the rim scorched and an attempt was made to sand away the damage.

I think it also helps to know where you bought it from if you bought it from SP. com than the question is moot as they don't sell fakes (as far as i know) but if you bought it from the Mobile 76 station off the interstate i would say it's no bueno.

It was purchased from an ebay seller with 100% but it was sold from Serbia. Nothing against Serbia but they have not provided any details after I asked so I could look into the pipe further.

Also, I weighed it and it only weighs 49 grams.

The 2016 St. Patricks Day pipe had a brass, orange, brass ring. In the pictures you provided that ring appears to be brass, red, white, red, brass. Its very possible it is a specialty pipe for a European market. I would ask Peterson. As I said above my Aran 68 has a rounded top.

I think this is the ebay listing for OP's pipe. It looks like a genuine Peterson to me. The rounded top may or may not be original, but it's a used pipe.

Looks legit to me ... it has the Peterson Dublin series 'split P' stamp. Based on the other pipes he's selling and his 100% rating, I would say its legit. He has some other nice Pete's there as well. It looks like he is selling his own collection or the collection of someone else. His inventory is divided between straights and bents all roughly the same types across brands. I noticed some are re-furbished so it is possible he cleaned and rounded the top of the bowl. I think it looks better but that's just me. 2 cents.
P.S. I don't believe that ring is red now, having seen the original pics ... I think its coral or jade but I don't know what year it would be ... check with Peterson. I think the price was fair to good. 68's sell high.
