Not at all. I've seen new guys drop loads of cash for Dunhills as their first pipes. You are quite alright, and experiencing early signs of what we call PAD. Pipe Acquisition Disorder.

Thanks chasing, at this stage I prefer a smooth finish and like the way the stem contrasts. :D

Check the measurements. See if it's big enough for you. I loved this pipe as well and ordered one a few yrs ago. I failed to pay attention to the measurements and it was much smaller than I thought it was. My fault, but SP took it right back. Great CS there.

A local pipe shop had a couple Mieles in stock. I had never handled a Savinelli until then..seemed like a quality pipe for sure.

If you're going to take a plunge, that's a good one. I think I have more Savenelli's than any other brand, and I find them well made and durable. I even won a fine Sav straight apple with a Sav t-shirt in the cartoon caption contest here on pipesmagazine co-sponsored by smokingpipes.com.

I believe they also come with a matching tamper that looks like a honey dripper.

As dread said, best do this before midnight while the ten percent discount is still in effect; it's a savings.
