Bind the bowl with fishing line (similar to winding a guide ferrule on a fishing rod). It won't look pretty, but it will work. I'd bind it first, then ream and clean it. You'll have to fill that gap with something, to keep the line from heating and melting. Wire may be the way to go. If you want to fill the gap, use some Mortar repair from Lowes ($5/tub). Wire would work with no fill material.

IMO, you'd be better off starting out with a bag of MM seconds. Assuming you can get them delivered there.
