It was made in Italy. End of story. A pipe can be carved in a country other than where the company is located. The "style" of pipe is not germane to the question.

I don't think there is any problem or confusion. Stanwell's current production is manufactured in Italy, therefore they are made in Italy.The problem is that Stanwell is still owned by a Danish company.
You can consider them Danish design. In time it will be forgotten. The shapes that are considered the quintessence of the English style of pipe making were created in Saint Claude and you don't look at a Dunhill billiard and say that it is a French pipe.But is it still considered a Danish pipe?
I would like to see those Stanwells made in London and know their history.I have 2 Stanwell's London Made, plus a few Danish Made, all good, I will look out for a Italian Made one.
