I use my dremel for many situations ...

For rustication/carving/polishing and buffing.

(Polishing and buffing pipes with "difficult areas")
It is an excellent tool, but, practice and experience give you great results, not the tool itself.

Practice long before use, I recommend.

I used the small cotton wheels to buff some of my pipes with Carnuba wax. It worked pretty well. I did it on a low-medium setting. I wouldn't use it on the stem though, I have left a nick or two in some of my stems that I had to spend extra time on getting rid of. I just use a buffing wheel on a drill now, so I recommend that. I got my wheel cheap on Amazon.

May I second those who suggest you buy a Dremel tool for general use? They don't do much for piping, but they're incredibly useful for so much else.
