If you have a total wine store nearby, they sometimes carry it. It is a bit pricey though.

This is not an Irish whiskey but I was just recommended from a friend; Basil Hayden's - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. It just took my number one from Johnny Walker Blue Label and 3rd place is Macallen 18 year. The best news is it's only 40 dollars a bottle!!

Powers might be an option. It is triple distilled and might be too smooth or not complex enough for what you are looking for. However, it makes a great spring/summer whiskey and has some great flavors going on. Also not too expensive although the price has gone up in the last couple of years.

If you're looking for something a bit lighter from Scotland I'd recommend you to try the glenlivet. Light, fruity and quite floral but with some depth to it. The 18yr old is rather pleasant. For a bit more power you go with the 16yr nàdurra at cask strength.
