Hello . I have been posting for some time but never introduced myself. I live in an island of the west indies (caribbean) and have been smoking pipes and cigars since the early 70's. About 2 pipes a day and a cigar every night. I do not have knowledge on computers and do not know how to post pictures. I was a member of the T.U.C.O.P.S. I travel (at least before the covid) oftenly to Spain, Italy and Argentina where i share with many pipesmokers from those countries. Regarding my smoking preferences , i enjoy several types of tobacco but my favorites are two mixtures that i mix myself. I hope to continue sharing with such a nice group of pipesmokers.

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina, U.S. I'm no computer whiz either. What does TUCOPS stand for? I also enjoy mixing my own blends, but just a bowl or two at a time.

TUCOPS was not two cops doubled for patrol. Stands for The Universal Cotiere Of Pipe Smokers I think was founded by Tom Dunn editor of the Pipe Smokers Emphermeris mag. I joined years ago at Columbus show complete with the logo shirts and ID pins.

Welcome from the Pacific NW. I was lucky enough to join TUCOPS toward the end. Pipes & Tobacco Magazine had a good write-up about Tom Dunn.
What is in your two blends that you mix?

One is a regular english mixture with a lot of latakia mixed with around 25% cigar leaf (strong , not pajizo) and some neutral cavendish to avoid the rough edges between these two heavyweights. The other one is half from the same cigar leaf with half Ryback (daughters&ryan) but in this case stoved virginia works better for the rough edges. Usually i add about 5-10% of the stoved but if someone prefers a softer blend then more stoved may be added.
