Interesting Modern Deco Pipe Stands On SP.com

They sold out quickly tonight. They came in gold and gunmetal, for one or three pipes. I assume the base is an engineered plastic but it was not described. The single stands were $25 and the 3-pipe stands went for $45. I like them. What do you think? I wish them came in a chair model, too.

They are nice, but they remind me of 60's chairs, so I don't feel the art deco aspect as much.

Yeah, you’re right. I changed the title to modern deco. The company is called ”8deco.”

They don't have much of an Art Deco feel. A little geometric detailing might have sold it as such.

The problem I have with most pipe stands of this genre is that my pipes rarely sit comfortably in them. They almost always want to tip to one side or the other.

I agree that stands like this often cause the pipes to slide out. But I do have one from a dealer that sold Peterson pipes and it works ok. I got a couple of these 8deco ones from SP.com and may have to add those small round felt tabs that you place under a glass top that sits on a wooden desk. I will post again when I receive them and set some pipes in them.

They’re interesting looking and intriguing—they kind of remind me of less graceful versions of some vintage Longchamp and Savinelli pipe stands—my main concern is that the edges look sharp; I can imagine them scratching a finish on a pipe.
