Interesting MM Corn Cob - 'Original'

Missouri Meerschaum and its outside coloring is not something I'm familiar with. You can email Missouri Meerschaum and ask them.

The bamboo is original, 1960's I think.

I have a similar Missouri Meerschaum with a hardwood plug and Whangee bamboo stem. Mine might be the HA-5 model. It’s my understanding that it’s from the ’60s, as @rustiepyles mentioned.

To me the black marks look like it was left in an ashtray with burning cigarettes a few times.

The stamp is the one used by MM on hardwood plugs. The patina looks normal, but definitely cleaned up.

It's a nice looking pipe. I'd smoke it.

I thought for sure the inner bowl would be junk when I saw the outside. Inner bowl looks as good as any of mine that are smoked. Crazy pipe find. Thanks all, good discussion.

The outside looks like when they used to "burnish" the outside by spinning the cobs against pieces of cottonwood. I've seen a video of that somewhere...
