R9239, I guess a precursor to the 9242? I had that shape number in a old Digby.

Every hallmarked GBD from that era seems to start with an R, I wonder what it signified?

Looks like the n from the 1916-35 series, so 1928. Interestingly it's another, different script logo as the two seen in the Comoy's Dating Guide article at pipedia, which makes sense given its later date.

It's always dangerous to argue with dmcmtk, but I think that's the "b" not the "n." Look at the top of the vertical line of the letter on the left-hand side. There's a sort of "t" shape to it, a horizontal bit (more crescent than straight) at the top of the vertical. That looks to match the seraph at the top of the 1907 "b" rather than the 1928 "n," which just has one little squiggle out to the side from the main body of the letter "n."
Cool shape, regardless.

I think it's a bi-lateral, oblate, cuneiform letter "zok" in its hieroglyphic post-Euclidean instantiation.

Cool idea, and EXCELLENT choice to make it. Chris's eye for detail and ultra-precise execution is world class. He's easily one of the world's top ten carvers, and arguably the best of them all. (Who else is equally good at classic shapes AND spaceships at that level?)
Can't wait to see it. (I refuse to get splattered by Facialbook, but assume someone here will snag a photo when the time comes)
Speaking of copying classics, check this out from Jesse Jones (a.k.a. Snaggly Whiplash :lol: ) in Columbus, Ohio. I've seen quite a few original Walrii, and he flat NAILED it. And a more difficult shape to copy would be hard to find.
