The groups here haven't received much attention, which is my fault for not making them prominent on the site.
We currently have 8 groups, which are now shown on the home page - middle right side.
The current groups are:
Drug store tobacco group

45 members
Pipe Making

38 members
The Virginia Club

31 members
Samuel Gawith

30 members
Pete Nuts

15 members
The 1792 Club

14 members
The Flake Club

13 members
H. Sutliff Mixture No. 79

4 members
There are links for all of them on the home page:

Thanks Kevin for the reminder.
I really wanted to join "The Flake Club" because I loooove me some flakes but I couldn't meet their demands:
"This club is made up exclusively of those who buy and smoke only flake tobacco."
I have other non-flake tobaccos that I can't give up. I'm guess I'm just too flaky. :)

I personally don't like special groups on a forum, they promote snobbery and lesson the amount of posts that go on the main forum. To me they are nothing but cliques.

I think you could easily put together a CBW or Lane 1-Q group. Maybe a LoTR-inspired blend group. But I agree: what exactly is the point? Seems that no one is afraid to post their ideas/thoughts/questions to the forums, including subjects which fall into these groups.
Side note: Kevin, you know how you did the data mining for the "What is your age?" thread? You should do the same with the "What are you smoking?" monthly thread. I find it really interesting to see who is smoking what. Even if they don't post to the TAD thread, you can see when someone's been visited by the Tobacco Fairy by the change in blends.

Great idea Simon. I like it a lot.

Hey Guys,
This is basically a bump for the newer members.
Groups
I have been fielding a number of questions of late about OTC's.
There are many here that have a far greater grasp of Over The Counter or "Drug Store" blends.
There are some other groups that may pique your interest as well.
