You got a pound of perique u looking to trade off?I too have bought 3 pounds of tobacco I really didn't like as much as I thought I would. That free shipping for large orders is my bane. I would not describe myself as a blender, more of a Perique/ Latakia consumer because I like that tobacco so much. If we lived close I would really want to trade. If you have Syrian Latakia I would trade 5 pounds mine ( the flavored stuff I don't like) to one pound yours and consider I made a fantastic deal.
And I say it with the same level of truth he did.As Bill Clinton said, "I didn't inhale.".
Discontinued a few years back unfortunatelyI believe Daughter's and Ryan has a pipe blend by this name.
And I remember the cigarettes. They said "extra mild" on the pack, but claimed to be the strongest cigarette.![]()
Gerald, and others who like to smoke these "condiment" tobacco's straight, do you get any other side-effects, such as tongue bite or numbness, etc???Latakia I love as well. Perique and Latakia are my favorite. They are condiment tobaccos but when the bowl is filled with just these it is really nice; it's what I like best. As long as I don't bother my lungs with it I find it pure heaven; just me.
You have to have the taste for strong tobaccos. Sip them and it shouldn't be a problem. I've never noticed any ill effect. If you want you could take something like PA and mix it heavy with the condiment like 4:1 to start with. Maybe not something a beginner would want to try though. I dont think straight Perique or Latakia is any worse then some ropes I've had.Gerald, and others who like to smoke these "condiment" tobacco's straight, do you get any other side-effects, such as tongue bite or numbness, etc???
As you can tell.... I have never tried this.
No other side effects. Perique is pretty smooth. Room note is kind of stanky though.Gerald, and others who like to smoke these "condiment" tobacco's straight, do you get any other side-effects, such as tongue bite or numbness, etc???
I guess that crazy hobo that told me there are aliens with plant bug dna breathing through their skin that are trying to infiltrate pipe forums, might just know what he's talking about.Cutaneous respiration.
You heard nothing and saw nothing!I guess that crazy hobo that told me there are aliens with plant bug dna breathing through their skin that are trying to infiltrate pipe forums, might just know what he's talking about.
I wonder if it is based on restrictions for tar content. Perique has something like 4-5x the tar of straight Virginia.I also remember the American spirit cigarettes having a straight perique cig back in the day. Those would do the trick but I don't think they make em anymore. Not that I pay attention to what's in the cigarette counter besides to balk at how much they charge for em nowadays.
You get the mac B HH rustica?I just picked my first pound of Rustica. Smoking straight Perique of Latakia sure is no worse than Rustica. Any of these are not overly rough, hard to smoke or harsh, just heavy, strong tobaccos.
I found a closing paragraph/comment in a review on Rustica of interest:You get the mac B HH rustica?
I smoke it straight and it’s good. But it packs a serious punch to me.
Sometimes I add it to a blend for a little kick.
Yup. It’s the only tobacco I have found that makes my head just spin like crazy.I found a closing paragraph/comment in a review on Rustica of interest:
"Despite all these measures, the HH Rustica still has a very high nicotine content, it is by far the strongest tobacco in the Mac Baren range and is probably one of the strongest pipe tobacco worldwide. We recommend that you eat well and use a small pipe before enjoying this flake, but don't be put off; the Mac Baren HH Rustica is probably the most extraordinary tobacco of recent years and an absolute pleasure experience."
Not for the faint of heart..............
Pretty much the only time I get tongue bite is when I smoke a hot pipe. As I smoke more that becomes rare. I do always drink something when I smoke; usually coffee or cocoa. A little milk is a good friend as is sugar.Gerald, and others who like to smoke these "condiment" tobacco's straight, do you get any other side-effects, such as tongue bite or numbness, etc???
