Yup. It’s the only tobacco I have found that makes my head just spin like crazy.
It is the strongest I have come across to this date. And I can smoke G&H brown Irish twist all day long.
For some reason people say the twist are heavy on the N side, but I don’t get that from smoking it.
The Royal Yacht .... yep my going to sleep tobacco works every time.

Pretty much the only time I get tongue bite is when I smoke a hot pipe. As I smoke more that becomes rare. I do always drink something when I smoke; usually coffee or cocoa. A little milk is a good friend as is sugar.
Thanks Gerald,
I think we all learn how to lessen chances for tongue bite as we continue our journey. But, having never smoked perique or latakia straight, I had no idea what the sensation would be. I must say that now my curiosity will probably take me there.

In watching u tube videos on cigars in Cuba I heard that in Cuba only old people smoke pipes and cigars LOL :) The video said that only old people like the really strong smoke; could be LOL :) I tried my gals cigarette once and found it beyond anemic; didn't like it one bit. I have sort of found what I like and I very thoroughly embrace being old. I do wonder if I would have liked perique when I was younger. I didn't start smoking until last July when I was 62.

I once got a lung full of Peterson's Perfect Plug in my patio bathtub... It was but wonderful and awful. Brought me back to that first Marlboro Red I smoked skateboarding behind the hospital when I was a kid... and also to the realization that I stopped doing that habit and the breathing problems due to inhalation was why!

Making perique would be a nice project. You basically have to compress the leaves until they ooze fluid which then ferments. That said I think a particular type of tobacco leaf is used. The fermentation takes place without oxygen and the vessel is wooden. Using older casks imparts increased microbes from previous batches. So I may try that sometime but it would be a complex process and yield little tobacco.

I do find myself inhaling small amounts of smoke during the course of a bowl. It just sort of happens. When it's not much, I find my lungs do okay, but if it's a full puff, I'll be on the floor.
