My wife teaches a Zumba class for the staff at the Institute of Texan Cultures and one day I got the urge to go exploring. There second floor is more like a museum that tells the story of every culture present in texas. There are sections for Irish Texans, Scottish Texans, Native American/Texans lol, and many many more. And every section has various artifacts that are dirt old and have some sort of story or importance behind them.
Well as I was browsing, the first section I started in was all about Native Americans. And hidden away in the back was this nice little case showing all sorts of hand made pipes out of stone, wood, clay, whatever was available. So I took a few snap shots of what I saw. Hope you enjoy.
Sorry for the quality, it was from a cell phone. Maybe later I will take some higher definition pics on a REAL camera.

Very interesting, but that churchwarden looking pipe doesn't look authentic to me--the stem. I have a metal tray that has that same PA ad with Chief Joseph on it.

Some of the things in the building are replicas. Just showing how they did it. And im sure the ad is just there because there's a cheif on it lol

Very cool! With a bit of Ojibway heritage I have done a number of traditional personal pipes in black soapstone. Fun stuff to work with.
