Incense-like Character in Blends?

I’ve noticed, and enjoyed, a flavor and aroma that reminds me of incense in a general way (as if it’s not particularly frankincense, myrrh, etc.) when smoking some blends. I have never tried smoking specific blending tobaccos. So, I was wondering which variety might be contributing to the incense-like quality. I get it when smoking English/Balkan blends. Thanks

Typically that's the various Orientals in my experience.

If they're gawith/hogarth produced, good chance it's lakeland. For some reason, I can't quite say I like it, but I do enjoy a good many blends that have it.

Straight oriental blends will give you incense and exotic woods.

Incense/cedar notes usually Basma and other orientals. Durbar was the king for this.

I laugh cause it's the Orientals I also find that Indian leaf has a different incense quality too. If you like that try some Va Orientals.

Try smoking Velvet with incense burning next to you. Velvet won't interfere in any way, shape or form.

A lot of Tobacco manufacturers employ college kids for summer jobs. Usually the hippy types. Most of the time, any tobacco blended or tinned in the summer or around spring break, gets cross contaminated with copious amounts of Patchouli oil. I once found a whole Grateful Dead Lp and a tie-dye t shirt in an 8 oz tin.
