That's probably true, but I referred to the later years someone born in 1978 experienced. Can't speak about the US, but here in old Europe my perception is that both wealth and civil liberties have peaked.

that only looks like that because people don't really pay attention until something makes them think it might effect them.

Something similar happens to me when I travel by an international flight. And I ask for dinner in English, and they bring me whiskey, a glass of hot milk, a rare steak, and peach jam.

Sounds like a pretty alright dinner if you ask me!

It's a joke for the most part. But it is true that I don't try to ask for things in English on international flights. The stewardesses have a great time.

Yes, dear friend. In Spain, Spanish is Castellano, nothing to do with the speech of Latin America or Spanish speaking South America. I mean, we speak castellano here.
