I always wear a t-shirt (but only under another shirt) - no color but white, and no visible logos. I don't care how good UnderArmour- or Nike products are, I'm not going to be a walking ad for them.

Never been much of cuff link fan myself. And it is very hard to find a good sport coat that fits right 52 coat, 36 waist...hard to work with that DAMN DNA!!

I think classy fashion goes well with pipe smoking.
@lordofthepipering: Amen to that.
When not wearing a pin stripe suit, I wear a tweed jacket with a tie.
Even when doing gardening, I wear a shirt with a collar.

I got gussied up to take my wife to a French restaurant for our third anniversary last night (I was a widower but I've know her since

we were 19). I broke out my old Hart Shaffner Marx suit, which still looks good because it as such a conservative cut.

I wore a subtle silk gold paisley bow tie and a lilac colored shirt my wife picked out, and cuff links hand crafted from

copper, nice big squares. She wore a red dress and open shoes. The meal was expensive, but one of those where you

feel, as you leave the restaurant, that it was worth it, every dime. It's good to feel comfortable about getting dressed up.

I wouldn't run errands like that, but when the occasion calls, I don't feel restless and miserable. Needless to say, the

shirt had a collar.

I am normally in a t-shirt or long sleeve t-shirt for work cause it never fails that if I wear something nice I end up in the yard and ruin it. Weekends and nights out I wear long sleeve button ups and old school cardigan sweaters.

From some of your comments, I'm guessing many of you live in urban areas, communities/cities with >100K populace. Here in rural America, suits are an oddity, usually worn by bankers, accountants, attorneys or such. Gave away my 3-piece suit about 20 years ago, and have only worn a tie about once a year to Christmas parties, and then only for the first hour or so. Shucks, at my last job, from whence I retired 6 years ago, my usual daily business attire was a knit shirt or sweater & chinos during the winter, and shorts, T-shirt, & Birkenstocks during summer. You can wear jeans to any restaurant in town, even the 5 star ones. Casual and comfortable is the order of the day around here.
