I'm a fan of Mac Baren as well. I agree the "McBite" is most likely a body chemistry thing as I've never gotten a bite from any of their blends.
The 7 Seas line got me drawn in. I also love Vanilla Cream Flake. Modern Virginia is one of my favorite blends right now. I also enjoyed the Scottish Mixture and Navy Flake. The Halberg Yellow and The Silver Cube were good blends too. I have a tin of six year old Club Blend I've been meaning to crack open as well.
I also have enjoyed their versions of Three Nuns and Capstan.
Mac Baren is a blender one should definitely give a try.

This is very interesting. I haven't tried a MB blend in about 15 years...I think the last one I tried was roll cake. I remember being not too thrilled by it at the time...a bit 'gummy' for my tastes. But at the time I was completely infatuated with English blends. Now, in my older age, I'm more open to other styles and will be giving MB another go with some of the suggestions here in this thread. Thanks so much everybody!

I enjoy Navy Flake and Dark Fired. My first foray with VA's was VA#1, and to top it off I was still a novice at piping so as a result when finished with the bowl, I had felt like I just made out with a rattlesnake. I've since then gone back after more "experience", and while still got some tingling from VA#1 it wasn't near as bad as the first time.
