I wanted to say thanks again. I've been reading everyone's comments throughout the day, and I've taken the words to heart. It's made me feel quite a bit better. I spent a lot of time thinking today and realized that I alone am responsible for my own happiness. I've been carrying my family's crap around with me for too long. It's time for them to shoulder their own burdens and, sorry for the language, shovel their own shit.
And Radio, that is perhaps the most logical thing I've ever read with regards to families and relationships. It was your comment that started the soul searching. You're very much correct.
Thanks again, guys.

I thought I would provide an update for everyone. I'm doing much, much better. I actually got some decent rest yesterday, and there has been some closure to the situation (albeit, not resolution). A friend and I sat around smoking GL Pease Sextant last night listening to the Sirius 80s station, which was relaxing and a good bit of fun. In the end, I've had to make some tough choices, but they're decisions that I'm confident in and having made them I feel much happier. Maybe happier than I've been in years.
You all were a huge help. Thanks for the well wishes, advice, and show of support. It was all taken to heart. There are some pretty bright things on the horizon for me (I hope to be announcing something, perhaps in a few months) and, frankly, I just don't have time for the silly stuff anymore.
It's all going to be okay. 8)

Sounds good man. There's nothing like listening to 80's hits to get your mind right. :puffy:

I am blessed with great family from both sides. It is really fun to have everyone over. My brother-in-law told me to bring my truck over to his house and we can have a bondo party. I am sure I will find a way to repay the favor eventually. On the very rare times when my family meets my wife's family everyone still gets along great. I guess that we all have the unspoken agreement that this unity is far more important than who is late or who is acting like a jerk, etc.

Glad things are getting on the up for you.
Seems some family's only call upon us when they need something, but true friends call upon us all the time. Its unfortunate but a fact of life. Just because you are blood relatives with someone dose not mean they can use can use us for a crapper every time they feel the need. I have friends that are closer to me than family.
It would be nice to have a Pipes Magazine blogger get together. Maybe split it up by regions????

Man, you pulled out Frampton. I was feeling way better beforehand.
You should have saved Frampton for a really bad disaster.
