Lots of antique meerschaum collectors out there, but a lot of them focus on figural meerschaums, which are often cheroot holders.

Geologists discover that a huge prehistoric tsunami carried amber from coastal forests to deep waters in Japan 115 million years ago.

Has anyone started mining and selling this amber. I can see it being the next mammoth ivory, all the carvers are going to be using “pelagic Japanese sub sea tsunami amber”…

Only a fool would buy or smoke pipes more than 100 years old, so anyway here’s a 1908 Meer Lined Loewe. Best of both worlds.
