Hello,

I am brand new to pipe smoking. I stumbled on a blend that I love, only to find out it is no longer available. The blend is Hearth & Home Ashcroft Estate.

It contains Virginia, Burley, black Cavendish, and Latakia.

If someone could guide me to a similar blend, I would greatly appreciate it.

I would love to find a bulk option too.

Thanks in advance!

I never tried that blend specifically but a spectacular blend that shares those same components and is available in bulk is Peter Stokkebye English Oriental Supreme. All the different components in this blend are well balanced and it isn't a Lat bomb. It quickly became my favorite English blend.

I never tried Ashford Estate, but I will second your suggestion just the same.

I would highly recommend Cornell and Diehl Epiphany or Morley's Best. The Epiphany is a little sweeter and has a slight spice from the Perique. The Morley's Best is a bit stronger and more natural tasting, but is very very good.

No I'm only 2 weeks into smoking pipes. We have limited local tobacco choices mostly puf tobacco shops. I have to drive a half-hour to get any thing good.

Are you state side? EU, Canada?
Curiosity has me wondering if you have to drive to a local B&M or can you order online without having the massive taxes some states impose.

Awesome I appreciate the recommendation. Im brand new to this so I didn't know what that blend would be classified as or how to describe it. I have a lot to learn yet.

It can be overwhelming starting out with pipes because there are so many blends and it's very different from cigars. My suggestion is to get online with a reputable site like smokingpipes.com and use their tobacco finder feature to search for blends with the same component tobaccos to what you like and buy an ounce of a few different ones and try them out. This will at least give you a base idea to work from and you can build from there.
