my dad told me his dad smoked i pipe, i asked if he got any when my grandfather died, he said no, but that my uncle paul did. which is odd as he doesnt smoke. so im gonna contact him and see if he still has them. hopefully he does. my dad said my grandfather had a small collection, so it would be nice if it became my collection.also ive never met my grandfather on my dads side as he died many years before i was born, so it would be nice to have a piece of him

My grandpa was pipe smoker and when he passed I got all of his pipes. It was mixed blessing, he had some really cool ones and lots and lots of pieces of crap. Ironically he used his crappy pipes more than his good ones.

Good luck man! My mothers father smoked a pipe, and my grandmother said that he was "Quite the handsome devil with that little pipe." From what I understand, his bedstefar (grandfather) smoked a pipe. His bedstefar came over from Denmark, so I am to beleive that they may be Danish made. They recently found them, and said they are rather dirty. No matter what they are, I plan on sending them to Tim West, who lives only about 45 minutes away from me to clean them up.

well I hope you get them. My lil sister got my grandfather's pipes but at the time of his passing i didnt smoke a pipe.He was a Grabow and Cob smoker and he only had one of each.I did get his nail apron and many of his hand tools i still use his yankee screwdriver to install door hardware never have to worry about battries with that and it gives me a chance to think of him on every store i build.

uberam3rica, despite your youth, you seem to already be developing a firm grasp on the sense of tradition which seems to be a part of this hobby/lifestyle. Well done, sir!

My wife's grandfather smoked a pipe, and she's tried to find pics on the web of what it looked like, but no success so far. I might prod her to ask her grandmother (still kicking at over 90) if she still has it.
Good luck with you uncle.

I recently received an old Yellobowl Dublin that my great aunt discovered among my great uncles things. He has been gone about 10 years or so. Never knew he smoked a pipe, ever. You never know what family may still have stashed about in a loved ones things.
