That is why I pay for Turkish imports with Paypal. Make a claim within a month if you didn't get something & they will refund you.

zanthal, I really what to know how this ends up! I can't tell you how many pipes I've ordered
from exporters in Turkey, and have never had a problem as of yet! I know it's well over 100, and
I have no idea how many, or if any used or bought insurance. I just never questioned it because
I never had a problem.
But from looking at your pipe travel itinerary, it was lost or stolen here in the states, and I'd
most definitely like to know more about that! I hope that it turns up and you eventually receive
your pipe. Best wishes to you!!!

I had a similar thing happen some months ago.I checked tracking and according to them UPS had delivered my package. They may have been it wasn't delivered here. I got lucky and was out in the yard when the UPS truck went by that evening and flagged them down. I told them my problem that the package was suppose to be delivered and so said tracking but it was not here. Long story short, after they did some checking they had dropped it off at a street about three blocks away with the same number as mine just a different but similar street. They went by and tried to explain the dilemma to some oriental old lady who knew few English words but they finally convinced her the package wasn't hers and she gave it back. I got my package later that night.

This really is the bottom line.
Still going to go through all the channels I can to either get the thing or get eBay to cover the costs.
Well, I'm hoping it's Customs related. However, the fact that it has a depart date out of the last facility and nothing further doesn't look good. I would have thought the hold for Customs clearance would have happened at the Los Angeles ISC, but it does continue processing with no departure information and only arrival at Santa Clarita, maybe it clears Customs up there, but the departure information out of Santa Clarita doesn't seem to bode well.
caliban, you do have buyer protection when using pay pal through ebay. You also have buyer protection in most cases using just paypal.
This is like a soap opera and i'm waiting for the good post of "it arrived"

I bought pipe off Ebay from a vendor in Isreal back in July and it sat in a postal facility in New York for a whole week. He said it would probably take several weeks for delivery, so I figured it was a customs thing and waited it out. I hope it's the same situation with your pipe, although mine did show it as arriving at the facility. Keep us posted.

It makes sense though ... the package is coming from Turkey, they probably have every single package coming from that country checked out by bomb sniffing dogs and X-ray machines.
I was just chatting with a friend in Canada about this. He said that he can get a package faster if it is shipped from Sweden than from the US. Whether is it going to the US from Canada or coming to the US from there, it always takes much longer due to customs.
