I’ve been after an Il Ceppo billiard for a while now, their robust esthetics appeal to me. Since they aren’t sold widely in the US they can be difficult to come by. The other day a very stout, large, first period (1977-95) sandblast showed up on eBay with a broken tenon, I snapped it up for a song.
Anyway here it is. Before and after, all fixed up. I’m really pleased with the results, the pipe has a very crisp blast and great proportions.
Upon arrival
Lots of lava
Removing the broken tenon
Counterbore for new tenon after turning in the lathe
New tenon test fit
Glueing the new tenon in
All done and shined up
An old Linkman Lovat for size reference.
As @georged would say, an invisible repair.
