Maybe this guy should have stayed home and cooked:
Disgusting moment Eagles fan eats HORSE POOP as Super Bowl celebrations descend into chaos in Philadelphia

Huh. Never thought of it that way, but I guess it's true. Living someone else's dreams.
Now... girls beach volleyball
It is surely visually intense.
The horse poop link is beyond what I can handle, so it will stay blue for now. Yeek.

Here
@DM: You can plant gardens in the lifeless shell of your enemy but can't take the poo-poo link? :nana:
One ignores the Super Bowel at your own risk, especially after that home made chili...
My wife is sick, so made her soup and we watched some mindless fluff on Netflix.
No football. No commercials. No horse poop.

Hey hey... I call it progress... baby steps. We get him to be disgusted with eating horseshit today, tomorrow we get him to stop killing hookers, then we start setting goals like clothes, baths, that sort of thing. Soon, we will be able to get him on the road to a self-sustaining lifestyle. Damn shame Barnum and Bailey closed. :puffy:

Odd how even reading a book is stimulating and refreshing, whereas watching TV mostly is numbing and depleting. There are certainly exceptions
Television is the new literature! But one has to be careful in what one chooses.

This year, I have other reasons to avoid the drama as well. Any time a "fun" activity becomes propaganda, all sane people avoid it.-deathmetal
Glad to know that you're sane, deathmetal. I was starting to worry.

I grew up playing sports and cheering for the Eagles has been in my family for 3 generations. Sure, the half time shows, highlight reels, exorbitant salaries, misguided idolatry and Chris Collinsworth does detract from the overall experience... but heh.
Sometimes the blue pill is what I need.

+1 for the cord cutters. I did it 18 years ago and haven't looked back. We still watch occasional movies or DVD's of old TV shows but the open sewer that passes for modern TV has been shut off.

I think that we are in the golden age of TV, but it is completely different than it once was. Networks are crumbling, and everything is made in series instead of the usual programs as we used to know them. But, the quality of what we have now is more comparable to top-notch movies instead of cheap network sit-coms of yesterday.

American football is a completely different game from rugby, not a "version" of it. I agree, though, that ruggers get more beatings than most Yankee ballers. And are in better shape, more athletic, as a gross generalization.
And TV is indeed entering a golden age, far different from the last 50 years. You now have a dozen entities competing to make worthwhile— or at least entertaining —shows. The mini series is like an extended movie when it's good. More character development, more back story, more twists, and often superlative photography and sets.
Open sewer! For sure, 398 channels are nothing but crap, but 20-30 or so have worthwhile to superlative stuff.

Dude, you didn't turn down the volume and turn up Merrill and Mike? What?!? =)
