Save the dog ... and then the guitars.
If there's time after that, yeah I'd try to get the pipes.
But the guitars gotta be saved first. My guitar collection is WAAAAY more valuable and important to me than my pipe collection. The pipes can be replaced, none of them are especially sentimental to me. The guitars on the other hand are my wives and girlfriends, I deeply love every single one of them.

Barring family... there are a few that would be high on my list for one of the first things I'd grab.

Yeah they used to say rivers didn't burn then the Cuyahoga went up in flames.
Yeah Randy Newman wrote a song about that :D

Didn't the Cuyahoga actually catch fire a couple different times???

Family first. Since my son lives with me and I have no other loved ones or pets in the house, then

that is a no brainer. :puffpipe:
It really depends on where... location location location. My snuff stash, cellar,

pipes, humidors, ammo and armory live in one room though. My son and I agreed to GTFO if a fire

reaches there.
I've never been one to keep all my eggs i one basket though. I keep a bag of cobs, pouches

of tobacco, pipe cleaners, matches/tools and misc. in all my vehicles though. Have a few pipe kits in

my work bag w/ laptop and junk too, so I guess there is that.
Stuff is stuff though.

If your house were on fire, would you take your pipe collection?
Of course I would! If it was too late, I'd throw myself on the pyre crying "take heart, my darlings, we'll love each other in the next world". and then scream.
But seriously folks, they're just replaceable things no matter how dear. Sometimes I think Fate dials us up re-set/re-boots as disasters befall us... we then remember, and treasure, what's really important to us. If my loved ones and I survive, that's all that really matters at the baseline. This would not prevent me from seeking an evacuated spot downwind from my house-fire so I could whiff my bakkies as they go... weeping for all the good times that could have been much more leisurely (and safely) savored.
