We’re visiting our son and I stopped in at McCranie’s. One of their original customers is moving to an assisted living facility and they are selling some of his vintage McCllellands and other tobacco that he purchased there over the years. Almost 80% of it was gone, but I got some great tins at fair prices.

The tin with the old price tag is for an original Hermit Mystic Blend.

if they advertised on tin bids, that factory shrink wrapped early morning pipe would be maybe 200$ per tin...

SHEEET, those mcclellands normally get listed at 250 for those red tins.. those white tins i dunt wanna guess.
They know they could mark these up big time. But they don’t, which is awesome. It’s a first rate place. I feel very fortunate to have McCranie’s in my back yard.

I’m sure they know. Flippers ruin it for the hobby. This should tell you a lot about why McCranie’s is one of oldest brick & mortar pipe shops still surviving and thriving. As we say in WV, never greedy, never needy. I limited my vintage purchase today to two of the McLelland‘s anniversary tins I didn’t already have and started this thread in the hopes others here might enjoy a tin or two of these rare tobacco’s, as well. I may pick up a few more to smoke.

McCranie’s is the epitome of everything good about our hobby. I did pick up three other new tins Matt recommended from their large selection: Dan Tobacco’s Limmerick Virginia Flake; Wessex Burley Slices and McCranie’s Catawba River ( I have their other 6 jars from the series, and they are fantastic.) Three more days left in Charlotte, and I plan another visit or two. Great outdoor smoking area to relax and enjoy a bowl. Hutch Piper just messaged me about their local pipe club meet up, but my wife and I are having dinner tomorrow with family here. I will try to make one this winter.

Wow, what a spread.
I can see they still have the Caminetto I’ve been drooling over. I’m about 2.5 hours away and always look forward to a visit when I’m in the area.
I’m such a fiend, I get upset when we go to Charlotte on a Sunday because McCranie’s is closed. As my wife reminds me, “We are going for family, not for McCranies.”

Well, that certainly outpaced his Vanguard account.
@Brad H may want to drive over and pitch a tent.
