Alan Brothers fairmount, the first version. Compact, sturdy, surprisingly thin button for a handfinished pipe.

Great thread. ?

Despite being a pipe smoker for over 40 years I don't have a large pipe collection....probably less than a dozen working ones. Although I've been very lucky with some of my estate pipe purchases I don't have to think twice about my answer to the question.

If I could only have one pipe it would be a Falcon straight....and when it comes to baccy my answer would be Condor.

Easy for me. Stanwell No. 11. Have a seven day set, and smoke one every day. Not sure why but this shape always appealed to me both aesthetically and in terms of smoking characteristics.

It would be a close call between my MM Country Gentleman and my Gigi Castania, straight apple shape with a Cumberland stem. I guess if I was forced to make a decision it would be my Gigi Castania.
