How soon will it be before you are either denied treatment or coverage because of nicotine in your system. I say the odds are real good.

It is simply a way to raise taxes as they stole all the money from social security and will not be able to pay all the people who are about to retire . The waste of the federal gov just boggles the mind .

If that would exempt me from the mandatory coverage, I'll take it.

Pstlpkr, You understand it the way I understand it. If you don't have coverage the IRS, (yes the IRS!!!) will fine you until you comply with Federal guidelines. It looks like it's going to be a catch 22 situation. I was hoping and praying it wasn't going to pass, but it looks like it is. As if this wasn't a big enough intrusion in our lives, I'm afraid this is only the beginning. But health care is the gold ring. Once they control that, they control every facet of our lives.

Better get ready gents, It looks like those pesky @#$$#@$* are going to get this BS pushed through. It blows my mind that such a measure could possibly be passed with there being so many people who don't want it. HMM.. I should run for office.

Scotty, most people don't want the government controlling their health care but that doesn't matter to the socialist/fascists now running the country.
As for the fines, I'll refuse to pay, go to jail and the government can support me in jail and my family on the outside. That will cost them a hell of alot more than it will cost me.

It's a shame that doesn't matter at all to them. There's been talk of some states trying to mediate on behalf of people who refuse to pay. I hope so, because I feel the same way as you.
Phil,
I've read about the incident from two other sources and the one you linked is the first to actually spell the words out.

Hey! What's the matter with having the government run health care? What, don't you schmucks think the Fed does a nice job with the Post Office, and Amtrak, and Social Security, and Medicare, and public education, and the air traffic control system, and the Transportation Safety Administration, and FEMA after hurricane Katrina, and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac managing the housing "bubble", and the Criminal Justice System, and...
doh!

Last night former President Bill Clinton spoke at the "Gridiron Club".

"He said that when Obama appeared recently on Fox News the president was "keeping his word about meeting with hostile leaders without preconditions.""

LOL!

I'd have to say this got out of hand....
I reckon there's two sides to every story. While I'm never surprised when people act like assholes, to the same extent, I'm not shocked when they lie.
I wish I knew what to believe...

I'm not a Tea Party goer nor a 9-12er, but I was disappointed to hear this might have happened. I can respect them much more than the people stirring up trouble for the sake of smearing capitalism. Even if the slurs were said, they've been much more peaceful than some of their counterparts on the other end of the spectrum in recent years.

I have emailed my Republican Representatives and asked that they wear their "Old Glory" lapel pins upside down until travesty has been repealed.
