As my cellar grows I’m at the point where I need to start storing tins and mylar bags in plastic tubs/ storage bins. Since I will likely move a couple more times, I need to find a size that is a good compromise between capacity (I don’t want tons of little containers) and ease of stacking and carrying. I thought of just good old cardboard boxes but they are too bulky, since I need to store them in various places in my house. Ideas?

After canning and bagging over 200 lbs of bulk, I would recommend 1/4, 1/2 and pint mason jars. I keep mine in the box with dividers they come in. They stack quite nicely. I store my bulk in the black plastic containers shown in the photo below. You can also see the translucent plastic totes I store my tins in. The 5 gallon mylar bags are what I store tins in for long term storage (10 plus years).

I like it. Especially the idea of tins in Mylar for long term. Thanks.
