I only order a few tins (pouches, baggies, or a tub) at a time, and only domestically, but I do admire it. The methods of payment issue is irritating. I would have ordered a pipe or two from Forums if not for a Pay Pal requirement. When things get complicated, I tend to appreciate my current pipes and tobaccos all the more. Stogy. Happy smoking! That stash would last me to age 140.

for me or him?
mine was like 42 euro.

$50. But Esterval's discounts make it well worth it for large orders. The discount on the pipe alone ($100 less than US prices) paid for it twice. The tobacco is also largely unavailable stateside, and many of the blends that are available here are much much cheaper, particularly things like Dan Tobacco, Capstan, Gawith, Rattray's, etc.

or any HU that isn't available here..
that was my main interest. You just have to order enough to make the shipping worth it.

I haven't found too many Dan tobacco products I have liked... and many are available stateside.

Yes, HU is almost always the primary driver for an Esterval's order, and certainly was for me. And yes, many Dan products are available stateside, but they are much much cheaper at Esterval's (Salty Dogs for example can be had for 6 euros there, whereas it is $18 here). And there are some Dan blends you can't get here that are quite good, St. Bernard Flake for example.

This can be applied to many other blenders available at Esterval's as well.

No doubt HU is the driving force, but there are many little gems to be had at Esterval's that aren't available here in addition, and if you are already paying for the shipping, might as well stock up on any favorites that they have available for way less money.

And if you like Vauen pipes there is much money to be saved in that realm as well.

I don't understand why the shipping is so expensive yet also so slow. Usually when you pay that kind of money your package doesn't take 4-6 weeks to arrive. My order has been sitting in germany marked "The international shipment is prepared for further transport" for over 3 weeks.

I guess it must have something to do with EU/US dealings and not with Estervals themselves. When I’m ordering (neighbouring country, Sweden) I get an order to my door in less than a week.

On the other hand, I am not allowed to buy that grand package of Capstan and others. Like in pic earlier in this post there is tins of Sutliff Cringle Flake that I also cannot order... there seems to be stuff that you americans are allowed to order and not us Europeans.

Nice haul! So much good stuff there. It’s easy to make the shipping worthwhile without having to add “filler” with the great selection at Esterval’s.

Must...not..place....order.....
