I have 2 pipes for latakia duty, 2 for perique duty, 2 for deep VA flake duty (Dark Flake Unscented, Old Dark Fired, etc) and 3 pipes dedicated to specific blends (Black Frigate, Potlatch & Luxury Twist Flake).
I hardly touch the aromatics, but would use a cob or designate another pipe if I did. The remaining pipes get all of my Burley, Oriental & Virginia action and generally whatever I feel like loading in them.
There's no right or wrong way, just YOUR preferred way.
