They have them in almost every major city here in the States. In Ashville, North Carolina, you see them tooling about downtown. I am not an alcohol drinker, but it doesn't seem to me that exercise and drinking beer would go together. Maybe it does, but I just assume ride my own bike without all of the rowdiness.

I think the idea is brilliant. I don't drink anymore, but think it sounds like lots of fun for those who do.

Residents should probably consider that the drinkers will be far too tired to cause any real trouble after that kind of session. Much better than drunks stumbling out of bars looking, full of bad ideas, for another activity.

We have them here in Austin, called "Pub Crawlers".

Drunks provide the horse (ass?) power while a sober person (employee) steers and navigates.
Another brilliant money making idea...

People out for a good time "should" want a decent surrounding. It's not just a question of pouring an intoxicant down your esophagus post haste. You need comfort, quiet or quiet music, conversation, and some dignity. Although a "fun" idea, this just looks random and not so comfortable. Pleasing to the unsophisticated maybe.

Yup, I have to agree MSO489, it would take all of the pleasure out of drinking in a holiday location. I would prefer to do the museums and art galleries first then sit down at a bar or cafe for refreshment and reflection on the day's visits.
I suspect these are popular with the stag party crowd where pretty much anything goes.
Regards,
Jay.

Here
They are filled with the energetic youth of the University Of Texas every Friday and Saturday night traversing the 2 miles from campus to the infamous 6th Street "clubbing" scene.
Between pub crawlers, horse carriages, pedicabs, buses, regular cabs, golf carts, skateboarders and the occasional rickshaw, I rarely go downtown on my bike during peak puking hours.
