Both long term members who have mysteriously disappeared?

Seriously, does anyone know what happened to them?

Not necessarily. I’ve been on here for quite a few years, and I’ve been known to disappear from time to time. I seem to remember Cortez doing the same in years past. There’s quite a few other old timers that I haven’t seen around lately as well. Peck, numbersix, smokeybear, just to name a few. I’m currently on hiatus from Facebook. I’ve been known to take long breaks from things now and then. I believe it’s healthy practice. These days, people tend to get very wrapped up in their “online” lives.

I asked a while back and someone said he has a large tobacco crop he might have been working on. I spoke to him back in march and he was working on getting his son home from a different continent before the COVID thing broke out

I think self-assigned breaks are good things. Members who have quit in a huff and delivered farewell posts have mostly just gotten over-involved. Just take a month or a year off, and come back to see if you are happier with the Forums weather. I know at least one member who underwent a fairly significant life change but has kept up posting from time to time, so it is all good, as the old cliche used to go. peck was brilliant at walking the line being outrageous but still understood as witty; he posts now and then, but not regularly as he used to. Actually, the people on here are equally interesting as the pipes and tobacco.
