I Really Enjoyed The New Ghostbuster Movie

From initially hearing about the reboot, I thought this movie would be terrible. While looking for seasonal spooky movies for Halloween, I figured I would buy the new Ghostbusters just to see how bad it was, and was pleasantly surprised. It was not a rehash of the original script, and choices for the cast were great. The jokes were funny after multiple viewings, and previous cast members Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson, Weaver, and even Ramis have cameos. The special effects are great to look at, and the story is fresh and solid. I'm really glad I gave this one a chance.

Sounds good, but I saw the original a couple times when it first came out and I just can't wrap my head around the new one or the sequel to the first one.
But I've also heard good reviews about this one.

I agree! I thought the movie was descent. I especially liked all the cameos.

Yes "Ramis" has a cameo in it. He is a statue/bust.

I really enjoyed it as well. It had a great cast of very funny women and I'm going to watch it again. +1 on the cameos.

I've not yet seen it, but I loved the originals when I was a kid... still do to be honest. Even part 2 lol. I was skeptical as well, but if you give it a thumbs up, I'll give it a shot.

You won't be disappointed. I was worried they would try a rehash of the original, but this is definitely a new beginning.

I was terrified this was going to be awful as well. I'm am a Ghostbusters fan, have the first two movies and the entire animated series. I was pleasantly surprised that it was well put together and really funny. Glad I purchased it and really hope they make another one.

I have a hard time watching reboots of movies. Like did we really need a remake of Point Break? It seems to me Hollywood is running low on ideas.

Critics gave it a 72% which is respectable and "fresh at Rotten Tomatoes. The "people" were not so kind. I tend to agree far more with the people. Looks like a coin-toss so I may like it as well.

I thought it was good, too. It beat the shit outta that Star Warts 7 JarJar Abrams crap. That's saying a lot. Star Wars 7 has become my bench mark.

Great reboot. Loved all the cameos. Hudson ' s was my favorite, followed by Murry's. I absolutely detested the blonde spastic girl cast though. Everyone else was fabulous, she just fell flat for me. Not enough to tank the whole movie but enough to lose a full star. (3/5 instead of 4/5).

Star wars 7 was necessary to right the ship after the iceberg collisions of ep 1-3. I liked it a lot, though it was very borrowing from IV. Comparing it to ep 1 and the mentally defective fish guy and metaclorians (sp) is unfair.
