As promised, a wee update!
Firstly, second bowl. Lovely, again, soo lovely!
Now, that 4.8 gram flake I rubbed out and dried for one hour in a folded tissue towel weighed in at 4.6 grams. A o.2 gram moiture removal and it smoked well. Average little bit of gurgle and one relight (never need to relight anything else I've smoked lately, unless on the move and holding the bowl when going into shops).
As the for the other 8 flakes, I decided to leave them in a tissue towel for an hour to see how they felt and weighed. Unrubbed I might add. Initialweight of 41.5 grams, cold to the touch due to high moisture and room temp' etc.
1 hour laterand still cold to the touch like before.. 41.1 grams! I gently bent them long ways to seperate a few hardened sections for future ease of prep' and set back in the tissue towl for anothjer 30 mins. Same cold touch but easier to bend and break apart the fibers but with a total weight of 40.9 grams.
My conclusion, this baccy is delishious! and The extra moiture content and weight loss during prep'is really rather negligable.
(sorry for being anal and weird lol)
Now.. on to buy some more tins at the behest of my wife who thinks I stink..
Thanks for recommendations dudes, keep them coming.

An awkward but worthile flake. Cube cutting and gravity fill can work well. St James Flake is also excellent and from the same stable.

My baccy just arrived! next day delivery.. nice. :)
I cracked them two new ones open and had a big sniff. The 3 year matured smells great. Woody, sweet mollases like, slightly meaty but not petey. The Dunhill flake, wow. Smells sweet and mature but almost like blueberry or something fruity!
I weighed each flake of the Dunhill and they are pretty unifromly 4.4 grams and perfectly formed. I mean, they make SG full VA flake look like ratty beef jerky! and they are almost perfect and near ready to smoke ott.
I rubbed one flake out and oh boy.. it was like full on ribbon cut in 5 seconds.. I'm very pelased and surprised. I'm drying one rubbed flake out for 30 mins and will weigh again.
I did smoke one bowl of the 3 year mature VA. Super stuff, absolutely perfect moisture level ott, no need what so ever to dry more. Nice 'mature' flavour, sweet, smokey tasting but smoked a whole big bowl in no time at all. Due to its dryness, it smokes fast.
I shall report my finding on the Dunhill flake, I hope it smokes and tastes as good as it prepares and looks!

To the mod's and readers, would it be better to start a new thread with my findings, or shall I just keep this one as my adventure update into the world of fine baccy?
And my apologise for being pedantic and anal, I get pretty nerdy with hobbies and I'm aware not everyone will share the same level of.. 'detail'. lol :)

Quick update!.. again. :P
The flake after 30 minutes drying in a tissue towel (rather warm today and the flake was pretty close already) it lost a total of 0.2 grams. Base flake was 4.4 grams.
As with the 3 year, it was a fantastic smoke. Smoked cooler, lasted a lot longer! and that fruity kind of smell the tin note had, was in the passing smoke aroma.
Deffinately a good one so far. Only after a good handfull of bowls of each though can I give more than just a first impression.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

I'm in the UK and bought from www.thebackyshop.co.uk
Great service, no affiliation and good stock. Sadly no bulk buy discounts in the UK as generally there is no profit in baccy anyway.
