al, I am sure ebay is right on this as you say, it puts more money in their pockets. You are right that it did push my bid higher and that is not right. It sucks that people like me with only laptops cannot see it as I might have pulled my bid.
peck, it is amazing how PAD rears it's ugly head as soon as I came back here. Luckily there is nothing out there that strikes my fancy, or I would probably be bidding or buying.
