+1x1000 lol. Nording without a doubt. I kid you not I have Nordings ranging from the Signature (low end, low cost freehand) to a grade 20 (Nording's highest) and I cherish that Signature as much as the high grades. Great smokers without a doubt.

PC is a good place for shopping for a wide selection of good lower priced pipes. Also look at Rossi, which are made by Savenelli, at smokingpipes.com. The Vittoria series of Rossi sometimes go for around $39 and are good smokers. EWA pipes at Iwan Ries are smaller pipes, but if you smoke flake, plug, coin or rope, they will give you a long enough smoke; they are around $37. MM cobs are always a good smoke. Dagner makes a nice version, in collaboration with MM, that has an acrylic stem, and I think MM makes a pipe or two with acrylic stems, which I only mention because I tend to chew through the plastic stems. PC has some Stanwells, good ones, for $49.99. There are lots of good lower priced pipes, but follow the brands. There is a lot of cheesy junk out there too. You'll be good with Savenelli, Rossi, Stanwell, MM cobs, Nording, EWA, Chacom, Butz-Choquin, Genod, Dr. Grabow, and other standard brands. If you aren't sure, check with Forums; someone will guide you. I'd start with a new briar pipe or two, some cobs, and then, if you want, venture into "estate"/used pipes, if you choose. But you want to start out with something dependable, so you know how pipes are supposed to work.

I think we need to define "cheap", I was thinking for under $35, if we'r talking over that then SPC has a quite a few estate midrange pipes for $65-$120 range

I recently got myself a sandblasted Ropp from smokingpipes. It cost me 42$ and smokes like a champion

Missouri Meerschaum if you want a cob.
Best value briars are Ropps if you want a small elegant French pipe. Morgan Bones if you want a great value knockaround briar.

I would never hesitate to recommend a MM cob as a good-priced smoker, but I know they're not for everyone.
