Thanks everyone - I am very humbled by my great fortune to have found this beauty and really appreciate the feedback and help in finding out the details. I must have spent a few hours last night on google and saw a "Gandalf" version that sold on the bay for over $900. I just keep shaking my head and thinking it is truly incredible that this slipped through the cracks.

Latin, which roughly translates to "I strive for the best." or "I think better things.", which is perhaps, more literal. In this instance, it seems both appropriate and very well realized. Congrats!
