I lovat to! There is one very large but; a lot of factory made lovats are just a billiard with a shorter stem to me. In pure definition they are a lovat, but they just look like a big no no to me. IMHO a lovat should be at least 6 inches long.

I may be a lovat pipe convert,
or maybe it's just that my canadian is developing a rounded shank ?

I like all long-shanks, but if I had to choose, I might prefer the oval shanked Canadian and Lumberman.

Now, between those two, I really cannot choose. I'm typically more drawn to tapered stems than saddle, but on a long shanked pipe, it isn't so clear...

I got my pipes today, they are beautiful! Unsmoked and really eye catching.

The little shell briar/black pipe has an inner tube system in it. Its unmarked except for in London England. Onviously a basket pope but be fun to find a maker and approximate age.

The other pipe has a normal stem and says the same. Made in London England.

i am very happy with them both and excited to see how they smoke. I will clean the stem oxidation, give them a wipe and select a good blend to break them in.

My limited knowledge and research I think they are Parker seconds? The black pipe stem is obviously vulcanite. I will have to look at the other stem closer. Not much info but seems Parker pipes with the vulcanite stems are a bit older.

@FishNChips

Lovats are great shapes, I love them too, I had a few and I sold them, need to get some more.

If you want to get a custom made pipe at a great deal, check out Jason Everett, @Chasing Embers will agree too! :)
