I'd be interested in hearing the music that my fellow pipe smokers make. Here's a link to recordings of some of my recent original tunes. Recently I put together a three piece band to play this material live, but I did all instruments and vocals on these home studio recordings myself .

Would love to hear your feedback on this new "album", and would love to check out any original music that anyone else here makes.

I already know I fail against Fatso's Junk, but I'll play. Here's my one man instrumental band that started out as just a soundtrack project for a paranormal documentary that never got made. I'm planning to go back to this project once my next metal album is done. I know there's a surf/twang instrumental record in me that has to come out eventually...

...and here's my one man metal band. This is my main creative project but I'm putting it second here since I think I already know which members may dig it...DON'T click if you hate loud music, it's no soft jazz. New album out hopefully before the end of the year. 13 months of work and counting...

Everything recorded in my home studio, AKA our spare bedroom and my former home office. Re-purposed for ROCK. :worship:

8 Track Willie is great! Your grooves remind me of Jack Black and the Presidents Of The United States Of America. Well done!

Listening to the first track now. Love the spooky, sort of surf guitar. Is that a Fender Jaguar ?

Epiphone Les Paul Studio, through amp sims...
Amazing, it really had the plucky, muted sound you can only usually only get with a Jag through a Fender tube amp with an actual reverb tank.

I guess it proves you really can play any kind of music on any guitar if you play it right.

The media player on my website is kaput, so here are a couple of my songs on YouTube.
My old Black/Doom Metal band Finsternis. I did bass, acoustic guitar, some percussion instruments and backing vocals.

Killers By Trade is a solo project. It's Gothic/Industrial Metal. I've been called the American Rammstein by some.

Thanks! Digital is slowly winning me over. For cleans it's easy to dial in a tone. If I had my choice I'd still do tube amps and an SM57, but it's not practical for late night creativity. I find it's the high gain stuff that is still sketchy with sims, but I have the PODHD Desktop and it's really close with some careful EQ. Are your guitars mic'ed or direct?? A few times I heard a bit of a Kinks vibe, very fun stuff!
Baron- your stuff is killer of course...

Cool that you picked up on The Kinks vibe, I'm a huge fan.
I did all that stuff with a Line 6 POD 2.0, but recently I got back into recording with my amps. My home studio is in the basement of a pretty big house on a quarter acre, so noise isn't really a problem. But until about 6 months ago, my Mother In law was living in the suite above my music room, and she blasted a TV 24 hours a day that would get picked up by the microphones.
The last CD I recorded with my friend George, we did all guitar and bass tracks using the POD

Me too. I did an all cover song EP with my metal project for friends, and I did all punk songs except for one- a version of 'Wicked Annabella'.

Volume for me is an issue with the wife, plus a crappy room, leaves me no real option but to get the best I can from sims...everything I have posted is with PodFarm and a UX2. Using the PodHD now was like switching on a lightbulb. Less amp models, but great quality. They nailed it.

Listening to the samples now, neat! Has a jam band feel on a few tracks, reminds me of attending the Gathering of the Vibes in '02. Good times, I think? 8)

I play a 4/4 cello, but you wouldn't want to her it. Wife says sounds like cats fighting for meat. When I was a boy in Delaware OH, I had lessons at the conservatory there. It is harder now to pick it back up.

George is not so much of a jam band guy, neither am I really. His main musical inspirations are actually The Groundhogs (Tony McPhee is his guitar hero), Captain Beefheart, Budgie, Blue Cheer, Johnny Winter, Soft Machine, Gentle Giant, The Stones. He also likes Black Sabbath, early Rush, the first three Blue Oyster Culy albums a lot too. His stuff is more composed than "jammed". He's known in record collector and garage rock circles for an independent album he put out in 1975, called Jungle Rot. David Fricke from Rolling Stone called it something like "The Holy Grail of the American underground" back in the early 80's, and set off a collector's frenzy. I've seen original pressings sell for $300+ on e-bay. I've got a story about how I discovered that record and came to play with George on my Reverbnation blog entry from 10/23/12:

I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, and piano. Sing and write as well. No recordings though yet. Everytime I think I'm gonna invest in a decent home studio, I find another instrument to learn how to play... and there go my savings.
