Sisha is approx 05% nicotine PER GRAM and only about 30% tobacco...in case anyone wants actual numbers. .5% if it's unwashed.
For me, shisha is kinda like sucking on a humidifier. Biggest knee-buckle I ever had was from a friend's custom cigar-leaf/perique/stoved virginia/syrian latakia/kitchen-sink mixture. It tasted a bit like dirt and typhus...but dear gods did it have a kick. I smoke some stout stuff, but that bowl definitely gave me a tingle.

If its only 30% tobacco what's the rest besides honey/molasses? Well I guess additives and other nasty stuff?

Alright. To get back on track could someone tell me the difference between rope tobacco, flake, and regular cut up? Besides from the obvious. Is it suppose to smoke different? Taste different? higher nicotine content? Educate me.

Five Brothers, Irish Flake, Irish Oak, and Old Dublin all pack a pretty good nicotine level. I think of those, Five Brothers has the strongest.
I enjoy all of them, but find that I can only take Irish Oak in small amounts so I smoke it in a small bowl. Something about it starts to wear on my taste buds after a few minutes. YMMV
