when I was a kid I thought baseball players really like their gum. Was confused by their brown spit though.
Surprisingly good stuff. The first few seconds are horrible and then something magical happens.
As a kid I used to chew on licorice roots and any licorice candies or Stimorol chewing gum. As an adult the roots and licorice from Calabria still do the trick. Funnily enough I don't like the flavor in my pipe tobacco.
I’ve had a sampler of salty licorice. It was pretty good till I got to bag of double salt and was like nah I’m good these are to salty for me.
Ok, this might strike some as gross, but one of my favorite things to do back when I used to chew was to get a big golf ball-sized wad of chew and wrap it up in my bubble gum, then stuff the whole thing in my cheek.
I used to do this when I played softball, I used Redman and Big League Chew, I would even use the grape sometimes.
Another player on the team turned me onto it, he said players in the MLB used to do it a lot, maybe they still do.
Liquorice is a laxative and XSive use of laxatives can lead to an electrolyte imbalance and hence a heart attack.
Many years ago a young female acquaintance with anorexia nervosa died of a heart attack after taking laxatives. ?
I imagine you'd have to eat a shit load of liquorice to achieve that - pardon the bad pun.
it also effects your absorption of certain vital nutrients in other ways too.
yeah that stuff is great but the first second is not. If you wait for just a little bit it get really good.Be warned; it's an acquired taste. We used to get it in my London office when visited by Scandinavian clients or some of our staff had been visiting them. Most people in the office hated it (which was great, all the more for me)
I've heard the same for coffee and as a regular heavy user of both, they've never worked as such.
coffee sort of is and sort of isn't. For some people it really is. Others it may speed up digestion a slight bit.
Does it come with licorice pipe-cleaners to clear the dottle out?
