The other day I was talking with my best friend about a new pipe I bought and while describing it, the conversation turned to the next time we get together, maybe I'd bring a pipe by and let him smoke one too. Not really wanting to have someone else smoke one of my pipes, and knowing the next time we were getting together was to celebrate his birthday, I decided to buy him a Dr. Grabow Grand Duke and a pouch of Prince Albert. I had plenty of pipe cleaners, matches, and tampers sitting around that I could part with so the next time I knew I had a pretty good starter kit for him. Him being a cigar smoker and me not having anyone to smoke a pipe with, I was really hoping he would like the hobby.
Needless to say he was really floored that I got all that for him(let alone anything at all since we don't get each other gifts). So after going out for a nice mexican dinner with both our women and getting to feeling pretty good on some jumbo margarittas, it was time to teach him. This also let me know just how much I had learned about the hobby. When all was said and done, he loved it. He loved how relaxed it made him. And he kept going on and on about how awesome it was. So I grinned and said 'welcome to my hobby'. I just hope the bug bites him like it did me.
Sorry for the long story(and it possibly being slightly incoherent) but lack of sleep can tend to make me ramble on. I just had to share that with everyone here.
