Congratulations Dave! I'm not a spiritual man, but there is a reason behind this gift and you deserve every scintilla of the enjoyment you will get from those beauties. You even get to restore them, which - while you might not feel it when you're elbow-deep in bleached stems and carnuba wax! - will give you a thrill every time you pick up a pipe. I am delighted for you.

The mother load is right sir. As others have said, congratulations, and good on your father-in-law. :worship:

I chuckled at the headline on this thread. In mining for gold (etc.) they talk about the Mother Lode,

but in this case it is both the lode and load! Happy smoking, shaintiques.

This is a good example of good karma. I've been following your thread on the free pipe club and Inhave to say, you deserve this one. Good for you! Those pipes are beautiful.

Beyond spectacular.
Dunhill bent bulldog is my uber pipe, so just that would have impressed me. But all those? and boxes. socks and papers? Just amazing.
Also, I have never, in 55 years, seen a hanging leather rack like that. I'm out of superlatives.

Those racks are rare, but they're around. It's the same design that Neil at Smokin' Holsters recreated after one of his customers brought an original in for refurbishing. You can buy new ones from him now if you like.
As others noted, incredible score. Buy your father-in-law a stupidly expensive bottle of scotch or something and you'll still be ahead many hundreds of dollars. I'm not generally a fan of the big Danish freehands, but I have to agree that that Ben Wade is a standout piece. Really, really nice.

What can be said but to echo what has been said, couldn't happen to a nicer fellow. Well deserved, congratulations.

An incredible story. You have quite the father-in-law and you very clearly deserve this great reward. Awesome.
